Course Selection Procedure

Holders of a graduate course diploma (for Master Program) and a master’s course diploma (for Doctorate Program) may apply to Postgraduate courses of the Instituto de Pesquisas de Produtos Naturais. In the admission section of our website, visitors can find more information about that.

 

Course requirements

Every student enrolled in the Postgraduate Program must receive individualized guidance from a faculty member. The choice of advisor should be submitted to the Deliberative Committee accompanied by a research project in the advisor’s field and an acceptance letter.

The enrollment in the postgraduate courses will be valid for 24 months for a Master’s degree and 48 months for a Doctorate. The minimum period for obtaining a Master’s degree is 12 months and 24 months for the Doctorate.

The candidate for the Master’s degree must complete at least 360 hours of pedagogical activities. The candidate for the Doctorate must complete at least 450 hours of pedagogical activities.

The candidate for the Master’s degree must be approved in the dissertation project exam by the 12th enrollment month in the Postgraduate Program. The candidate for the Doctorate must be approved in the thesis project exam by the 26th enrollment month in the Postgraduate Program. The candidate for the Doctorate must be also approved in the qualification exam by the 40th enrollment month in the Postgraduate Program.

The master’s dissertation or doctoral thesis can only be judged after the candidate has fulfilled all the requirements of the Postgraduate Program. In case of approval in the defense, the candidate will be entitled to the respective diploma in Chemistry of Natural Products.
